Workshops aimed to aid entrepreneurs in Mon Valley

The University of Pittsburgh’s University Center for Social and Urban Research and Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence is holding workshops as part of its Advancing Entrepreneurship in the Mon Valley program.

The program provides education and consulting services to new, emerging and existing entrepreneurs in the Mon Valley. The First Step: Mechanics of Starting a Small Business will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Carnegie Library of Homestead, 510 E. 10th Avenue, Munhall, and 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Pennsylvania Career Link Mon Valley, 570 Galiffa Drive, Donora.

The Second Step: Developing a Business Plan will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Carnegie Library of Homestead and 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 22 at Pennsylvania Career Link Mon Valley. This workshop will help people learn how to draft operational and production plans, conduct market research, and create financial spreadsheets to attract funding for your business.
