Roast beef dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Claysville United Methodist Church. The menu includes roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, coleslaw, roll with butter, assorted pies, iced tea, lemonade and coffee. Cost is $10 for a regular serving and $6 for a small serving. Call 724-663-4439 the day of the dinner for additional information or takeout.

All-you-can-eat breakfast to benefit Sons of the Legion will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at American Legion Post 175, 168 Park Ave., Washington. Cost is $5.

Washington County Community Center will hold a beginner’s tai chi class from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and an advanced class from 7 to 8 p.m. Cost is $10. To register, call 724-222-2806.

Western Pennsylvania Lensshooters Camera Club will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at Peters Township Public Library. Speaker will be Dave DiCello, who is well-known for his artistry when it comes to photographing Pittsburgh. This month’s photo theme is “Reflections.” Members can photograph anything that pertains to reflections. Only one image per photographer is permitted. Rummage sale/bake sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 10 and 11 at Fawcett United Methodist Church, 346 Fawcett Church Road, Bridgeville. Lunch will be available. Enjoy entertainment books, Rada knives and Christian greeting cards will be sold, and orders will be taken for holiday pies and Sarris candy.

St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 601 Boone Ave., Canonsburg, will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 11. Breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries and a beverage. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 6 through 12 years old. Children younger than 5 eat free. Proceeds will benefit parish youth outreach programs sponsored by St. John’s Jr. “O” Club.

Star parties sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will be held at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 11 and 25 at the Mingo Creek Park Observatory. The event is held rain or shine. The planetarium schedule includes a sky show at 7 p.m.; presentation at 7:40; sky show at 8:20; and a movie to be determined at 9 p.m. Visit the AAAP website, www.3ap.org, for information.

Lighthouse Community Church, 160 Vista Valley Road, Washington, will host its annual Harvest Festival at 11 a.m. Oct. 11. Ladies of the Elks Lodge 776, 138 E. Maiden St., Washington, will hold their fall chicken-and-biscuit dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 12. Donation is $7, and tickets can be purchased at the door.
