Massage therapist offering free fibromyalgia events

Margie Webb, a registered nurse and licensed massage therapist at Ahhh … a Massage in McMurray, will conduct two free events to recognize Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, which is May 12, and celebrate the 15th anniversary of her home-based therapeutic massage practice.
The events will be held at her practice, 310 E. McMurray Road, and include:
• “Fibromyalgia and You,” 10 a.m. May 9. Fibromyalgia may heighten all the senses: taste, touch, smell, hearing and sight. Call 412-877-8569 to register.
• Free evaluations of the muscles, joints and tender points of fibromyalgia, followed by a half-hour massage to address the pain these points, May 11-16. Call 412-877-8569 to schedule an evaluation.
Donations will be accepted to benefit research being done by the National Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Association.
According to the association, fibromyalgia is a common condition of widespread muscular pain and fatigue. Seven million to 10 million Americans suffer from fibromyalgia. Their discomfort can be so severe it may significantly limit their ability to lead a full life.
