Mon Valley YMCA begins new classes

New sessions of group fitness begin Monday at the Mon Valley YMCA. They include:

• Balanced Body, a program that offers 49 weekly fitness classes for every fitness level.

• Boot Camp for Kids, for 5- to 13-year-olds, is held every Wednesday night.

• Seated Tai Chi, for those needing support, is held at 10:30 a.m. Mondays.

• Tai Chi for Beginners, 11:30 a.m. Mondays.

The classes are free to members and available to nonmembers for a nominal fee.

Other classes include:

• Water exercise, featuring Wet Vest, Arthritis, Aqua Fit and Aqua Zumba, which begins May 11.

• Silver Sneakers Splash and Splash Dance.

• Zumba, with three morning and two evening classes, begins Monday.

• Zumbini, a parent and child music and movement class, begins May 9. Open to children up to 3 years old.

• Zumba Kids, for 7- to 11-year-olds, begins May 9.

• Foundations in Training, for 8- to 13-year-olds, begins Monday. Students will work with a certified personal trainer doing strength and cardio work, as well as flexibility, balance and coordination training.
