Peters Township Public Library will present “Domestic Counter-Terrorism: Lessons Learned from the Afghan War” from 7 to 8 p.m. Jan. 7.

Dr. Jibey Asthappan, an assistant professor and director of the National Security Program at the University of New Haven, will present the program.

Asthappan will explain how lessons learned from the Afghan War can help address terrorist threats within the United States, and how choosing the most effective tactics from antigang initiatives can shed light on curbing the increase in domestic terrorism events. Asthappan will identify the best practices from both counter-insurgency and antigang techniques. A discussion will follow.
