Miles – 100 years
Helen (Reynolds) Miles of Waynesburg will celebrate her 100th birthday Sunday.
She was born February 8, 1915, the second of six children born to Cora Belle and Sheldon George Shipe.
Mrs. Miles grew up in Washington County, graduating from Trinity High School in 1933.
She married her first husband, Ray W. Reynolds, in 1933, and her second husband, Walter Lloyd “Cye” Miles, in 1984.
Mrs. Miles has one daughter, Janet Reynolds; four grandchildren, Justin and Jonathan Baird, Kendall Rodriguez and Jorden Welker; and four great-grandchildren.
She is a resident of Rolling Meadows and remains an avid reader, letter writer and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She loves having visitors, and when asked what she wanted for her birthday, she said, “Cards. At least 100 cards.”
