Hathaway – 101 years
Helen Marie Carson Hathaway of Washington will celebrate her 101st birthday with a party for family, friends, residents and staff at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, at Kade Health and Rehabilitation Center, 1198 W. Wylie Ave., Washington.
Mrs. Hathaway was born August 4, 1914.
On August 15, 1934, she married Earl L. Hathaway, who died in 1988.
The couple had one son, the late Gene Hathaway.
Mrs. Hathaway has been a member of North Buffalo Church since she was an infant and is its oldest living member.
She always had a large garden and enjoyed canning. She also enjoyed quilting and won numerous blue ribbons for her quilts.
Mrs. Hathaway became a resident of Kade Health and Rehabilitation Center in November 2014. She enjoys socializing with residents and staff, attending activities and visiting with her friends and family.
