Blackjack tourney raises $20,000 for MVH

The second annual Blackjack Tournament at The Meadows Casino to benefit Monongahela Valley Hospital recently raised nearly $20,000.
All proceeds will be used to support the hospital’s new Breast Care Center of Excellence, which will focus on the prevention, early detection and treatment of overall breast health.
The Breast Care Center, which will be certified by the American College of Surgeons, will require renovating the hospital’s medical imaging area as well as adding a new patient navigator. This new staff member will guide patients through the health care system to ensure continuity of care.
“This new center will be a complete, multifaceted approach to breast care and breast health, and we are proud to be able to offer such comprehensive care to our community,” said Sara Schumacher, vice president of fund development.
