Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Oldies Dance from 7 to 11 p.m. May 9 at its community social center.

Disc jockey Ralph Trilli, co-host of Cruisin’ Sunday on WJPA in Washington, will provide music for the dance. Trilli will play music from the 1950s and early 1960s, including doo-wop, rhythm and blues and rock ‘n roll. Music for line dancing and Shag aficionados also will be featured.

The current series of oldies dances, which began in 2008, continue a tradition that began with the original teen record hops that ran from 1957 through 1964 in Stockdale. Top names in the recoding business appeared on stage in Stockdale, and crowds of 1,000 were commonplace during that run.

Admission to the Bring Your Own Everything event, such as food and beverages, is $10 per person. Attendance will be limited to 600. Refreshments, excluding pop, will be provided by the fire department.

Reservations, tickets and additional information are available by calling 724-330-5002.
