Essay winners recognized
Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Auxiliary Unit 175 recently presented certificates to winners from Washington Park Elementary, Trinity Middle and Washington and Trinity High schools for their Americanism essays. The theme was “What Does Freedom Mean to My Family?”
Winners were:
• Kyle Bainer, son of Eddie and Tina Bainer of Washington, a student at Washington Park Elementary School, first place.
• Ta’Raysia Finley, daughter of Danny Kosek and Erika Warner of Washington, a student at Washington Park Elementary School, second place.
• Kayla Post, daughter of Robert Post and Renee Hardie-Post of Washington, a student at Trinity Middle School, first place.
• Tyler Weller, son of Floyd and Alicia Berry of Washington, a student at Trinity Middle School, second place.
• Zach Ecker, son of Roger and Diane Ecker of Washington, a student at Trinity High School, first place.
• Stephen Rydzak, son of Joe and Deb Rdyzak of Washington, a student at Trinity High School, second place.
• Shelbey Patterson, granddaughter of David and Kathy Blose of Washington, a student at Washington High School, first place.
