Richard A. Fincham, a junior at Washington & Jefferson College, has been designated a 2015 Carnegie Mellon IT Lab Junior Summer Institute Fellow. The fellowship offers an immersive opportunity to learn and improve quantitative and analytical skills. Fincham also was awarded the David and Kristen Steinberg Scholarship for Information Technology Leadership, presented to one Washington & Jefferson College student each year. Fincham is majoring in computing and information studies with a concentration in information security, and has been named to the dean’s list every semester. He is a 2012 graduate of McGuffey High School, and his parents are Richard and Michelle Fincham of Washington.
Daniel Mrock of Canonsburg graduated magna cum laude from the adult accelerated program at Point Park University, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in organizational leadership. He is a 1988 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School.
Jenna Rose Sicchitano graduated magna cum laude from California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science in communication disorders. Sicchitano was a two-time Presidential Scholar Award recipient. Her parents are Ron and Karen Sicchitano of Scenery Hill.
Two California University of Pennsylvania students received $1,000 scholarships from the local chapter of the Association of Pennsylvania State College & University Faculties. Tamina DeLuca-Bailey of Washington is a graduate student majoring in elementary and special education. James Arthur Whisner of Daisytown is a graduate student majoring in social work. The local APSCUF chapter, which is composed of all Cal U. faculty, annually awards four student scholarships.
