Seven Washington and Greene County students recently received Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program awards from the Comcast Foundation.

They are Evan Alrutz of Fort Cherry High School, Cassandra Clayton of Chartiers-Houston High School, Forrest Cullings of Trinity High School, Matthew Desrosiers of Waynesburg Central High School, Taylor Ellis of Washington High School, Mackenzie Klutch of Canon-McMillan High School and Abby Moffit of Charleroi Area High School.

Each student received a $1,000 scholarship for striving to achieve their potential; being catalysts for positive change in their communities; being involved in their schools; and serving as models for their classmates.

To date, Comcast has awarded more than $22.8 million to nearly 23,000 Leaders and Achievers Scholarship winners.
