The Martha Washington Quilt Guild will hold its monthly business meeting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Church of the Covenant, 267 East Beau St., third floor, Washington. Martha Webb will present a program on making the Jelly Roll Race quilt. Guests are welcome.

Mary and Martha Joy Fellowship of Monongahela invites people of all denominations to its monthly meeting of praise and worship June 4 at First Presbyterian Church of Monongahela, at the corner of Sixth, Main and Chess streets. Fellowship and refreshments will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7. There is no charge. A freewill offering will be accepted. Enter the church from the Chess St. side and go up the steps to the parlor on the main floor. Guest speaker will be Ruth Bayura from Christian Center. Giant Oaks Garden Club will meet at 11:15 a.m. June 4 at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 905 E. McMurray Road, McMurray. Lunch and the meeting will be followed by a trip to Simmons Farm Market, where Jan Simmons and her assistants will help members create a container garden. Members can bring their own planter, or they can purchase one at the farm. Cost will be based on the size of the container and the plants you choose. Guests are welcome. Lunch is $6 for guests. Managing Your Diabetes will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 2-4 at Mon-Vale HealthPLEX. Topics include the importance of controlling blood sugars, diabetes medications, lifestyle changes, meal planning and methods to reduce the risk of complications. Registration deadline is Tuesday; call 724-258-1483.

AARP Driver Safety Beginners’ Course will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 4 and 5 in the Education Conference Center at Monongahela Valley Hospital. The classroom-based driver improvement course is designed for motorists 50 and older. Some insurance companies offer discounts for course completion. Cost per person is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. Registration is required; call 724-258-1333.
