Rotary Club of Washington presents service awards

The Rotary Club of Washington recently presented its Avenue of Service Awards at Rossin Campus Center on the campus of Washington & Jefferson College. Pam Vennare, owner of Horse ’N Soul Riding Academy, Washington, received the John L.S. Northrop Vocational Service Award. Vennare operates a therapeutic riding program for mentally and physically challenged children and adults. Kathy Sabol, executive director of the Washington County Bar Association, was presented the Roy R. Gillespie Community Service Award for her service to civic and community organizations. Abraham Key, president and chief executive officer of PONY Baseball and Softball, received the Andrew G. Uram International Service Award for his lifelong commitment to sports and international sports competition through his leadership in the nonprofit PONY organization. The vocational award includes a $1,000 grant to the charity of the recipient’s choice, while the community service and international service awards carry Paul Harris Fellow recognition and $1,000 donation each to the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
