Pier Lee to be honored at Peters Township library
In celebration of her 40 years of service, Pier M. Lee, director emerita, will be honored from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Dec. 6 during a reception at Peters Township Public Library.
There also will be a ribbon cutting and inaugural event in the library’s new café, a project that Lee was instrumental in bringing to fruition. Light refreshments will be served at the gathering, which will be followed immediately by the township’s annual tree lighting and holiday party from 6 to 8 p.m.
As part of her vision to provide patrons with a comfortable location to relax and enjoy a beverage while visiting the library, Lee solicited donations to provide for a new café on the second floor of the building and oversaw construction of the space.
“Although Mrs. Lee has enjoyed working behind the scenes for 40 years, we thought our township tree-lighting night would be the perfect time to shine a light on her many glowing accomplishments,” said Myra R. Oleynik, library director. “It will be an informal evening of celebration and a wonderful way for residents both young and old to say thank you and to wish her well in her retirement.”
Reservations for Lee’s celebration are requested by calling the library at 724-941-9430. Deadline to register is Dec. 1.
