The Greater Brownsville Area Chamber of Commerce will light the evening sky Nov. 27 with community-wide luminaria on both sides of the Monongahela River to welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus to town.
South Side Volunteer Fire Department, 530 Water St., will host the season’s couple, who will hand out treats to area youngsters and listen to each child’s gift wishes. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at the fire hall around 7:30 p.m.
Brownsville’s Light-Up Night is marking its 27th year. The grand marshals, Santa and Mrs. Claus, will ride atop a decorated fire truck in a procession of decked-out emergency vehicles that will follow an eight-mile route in Hiller, West Brownsville, Blainsburg and Brownsville Borough. Streets will be lined with nearly 2,000 jugs and candles.
