The Washington, Fayette, Greene County Council of the American Legion Auxiliary will be held Wednesday at The Meeting Place, 7 East Main St., New Salem. The executive meeting begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by the regular meeting at 11. Cost of the luncheon is $5 and can be paid at the door on arrival. Liberty United Methodist Church, 1330 Banetown Road, Washington, will hold a community dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Menu includes cream chicken and biscuit, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw or fruit, dessert and beverage. First Christian Church, 615 E. Beau St., Washington, will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Dinner includes spaghetti with homemade meat sauce, salad, Italian bread, drink and homemade dessert. Carnegie Performing Arts Center presents “The Nutcracker” Dec. 4-6 and Dec. 11-13. Performances will begin at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays at Andrew Carnegie Music Hall, 300 Beechwood Ave. Tickets will be available at the door and cost $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and children. The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum will host Trolleys and Toy Trains from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Dec. 11. Patrons can ride trolleys that are decorated for the season and visit the multi-leveled Lionel toy train layout. Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors ages 62 and older, $6 for children ages 3 through 15 and children 2 and younger are free. Admission includes trolley rides and exhibits. Genealogy Society of Southwestern Pennsylvania will hold its annual general membership meeting and holiday luncheon Dec. 19, downstairs at Citizens Library, 55 S. College St., Washington. Luncheon begins at 1 p.m. and the meeting follows at 2. Guest speaker will be Clay Kilgore, executive director of the Washington County Historical Society. Cost is $15. The menu, provided by Crystal’s Cafe, includes spiral ham, stuffed chicken breast, tossed salad, peas and onions, rolls and butter, desserts and a beverage. RSVP by Friday to C. Cecil Township Department of Public Works will host its 11th annual toy drive from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Cecil Township Public Works Garage, 3655 Millers Run Road. Bring a new, unwrapped toy valued at $5 or more. Refreshments will be provided and Santa Claus will be spending the day at the drive. The event benefits the Toys for Tots of Washington County.
