Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will hold star parties today and Oct. 17 at the Mingo Creek Park Observatory in Mingo Creek County Park. Viewing will begin at 5:30 p.m., weather permitting, followed at 6:30 by sky shows and lectures. Viewing will continue at dusk. For more information, visit www.3ap.org.

The Washington, Fayette, Greene County Council meeting will be held Wednesday at Jefferson Post 954. The executive meeting begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by the regular meeting at 11.
