“How to Communicate Professionally” will be presented by Demetria Danielides-Abde, etiquette and business protocol expert from Mother May I, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Peters Township Public Library.

“These days, your digital impression is your first impression,” Danielides-Abde said. “Although many job-seekers and employees use social media, they do not understand the far-reaching effects of what is posted online.”

She said getting along with each other is more difficult these days because of a lack of social contact. If everyone practiced appropriate behavior, managers could spend more time on getting their job done versus “disciplining” the inappropriateness, she added.

Also, appropriate work-place attire will be discussed, with suggestions for managers and human resources personnel who are trying to get employees to better represent their companies through improved appearance.

The library is partnering with the Peters Township Chamber of Commerce for this workshop. Cost is $10 per person, but those who register with payment by Sunday will receive a $2 discount. Register at the library circulation desk.
