Washington Health System Sports Medicine recently recognized a female and male athlete, plus a coach, in October. This year’s participating schools are Fort Cherry, McGuffey, Trinity and Washington. Winners were: • Kurt Adkins, a senior running back at Washington High School, who was recognized for his accomplishments on the football field. Adkins is described as a great leader on the field and is praised for his work ethic. He also participates in wrestling, track, baseball, mock trial, academic league and theater. • Hannah Greene, a junior at Fort Cherry High School, who plays volleyball and earned a spot in the rotation at every position. She leads the team in kills, averaging 12 per match. Greene also is involved in track, basketball and Student Council, and has a 4.0 grade-point average. • Mike Bosnic, varsity football coach at Washington. Bosnic recently became the coach with the highest winning percentage in the district’s history. Bosnic also serves as weight-room coordinator and recently developed a year-round weight program for all district students. In addition, he helps facilitate a program with his team that focuses on domestic violence awareness.
