Registration for children who will attend kindergarten or first grade for the first time in the Southeastern Greene School District will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11-13. Call the office at 724-839-7241 to schedule an appointment.

Children must be 5 years old before Sept. 1 to be eligible for kindergarten and 6 years old by Sept. 1 to enter first grade. Parents must bring the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, proof of identification, proof of residency and custody/guardian documents.

The following immunization records must be presented: three shots for Hepatitis B; four shots for diphtheria-tentanus; three doses of trivalent oral polio vaccine; rubella 9-day or regular measles vaccine; rubella 3-day or German measles vaccine; mump vaccine; and varicella immunization or proof of the disease.

Children who cannot receive these shots for health reasons must provide a certificate from a physician or clinic. If a child cannot receive these shots for religious reasons, the parent or guardian must sign a form. All immunizations must be completed before the beginning of school. The school nurse and clerical staff will be available to assist parents with registration and any transition program. During registration, each child will receive an entrance assessment.
