Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will hold a needle and yarn craft workshop at 10 a.m. Aug. 17 in the Mingo Creek County Park office. Soap will be made and flip flops will be decorated. Molds for soap will be provided but participants are welcome to bring molds. Bring a pair of flip flops to decorate. Refreshments and a small snack will be provided. Cost is $4. Registration is required; call 724-228-6867.
Mt. Pleasant Glass & Ethnic Festival Committee will hold its fundraiser, Mt. Pleasant Cruise Night, Aug. 19 in Frick Park, sponsored by Davies Ford of Connellsville. Gates open to drivers at 6 p.m. with admission by donation and dash plaques will be distributed to the first 200 drivers. Gates open at 7 with a $2 donation. Children 12 and younger will be admitted for free. There will be a DJ, food and beverages, prizes will be awarded and a 50/50 drawing will be held. Rain date is Aug. 26.
