‘Better World Books’ coming to Brownsville library
Brownsville Free Public Library will be getting a “Better World Books” drop box.
The library will receive a 10 percent commission for every donated book that the Indiana-based Better World Books sells from the local box. Unwanted books, including outdated textbooks and encyclopedias, will be accepted.
Library director Emma Hardesty said all book donations from patrons that aren’t placed in the permanent collection will be put into the drop box.
Many donated books also will be used to help support adult literacy programs. Books that can’t be sold or used for literacy programs will be recycled.
