Waynesburg Lions honor two students
Waynesburg Lions Club honored two Students of the Month for November as selected by the Waynesburg Central High School faculty.
They are Nate Blair and Lauren Rose.
Blair is a senior with a 4.0 grade-point average and is captain of the varsity soccer team. He also is a member of the football and track teams, the Academic League, the National Honor Society, library, ski, physics, green and Varsity clubs and Future Business Leaders of America.
He is a four-sport letter winner in soccer, football, basketball and track. He also was on the All-Section soccer team as a junior and senior and was named All-WPIAL in 2016 for soccer
Blair, son of Matt and Heidi Blair of Waynesburg, was named Prince Charming at the 2016 Cinderella Ball and received the Ana G. Meighen History Award.
Blair is the captain of Victory Express Cup Soccer team, volunteers with Crossroads Youth Ministry, Pittsburgh Project and Greene County Youth Soccer and is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg. He has worked in food services at the Alpha Aquatic Center and is a certified soccer referee. His special interests are history, politics, sports, video games and travel. Blair plans to major in mechanical engineering in college.
Rose is a senior with a 4.0 grade-point average, and has had a 4.0 grade-point average every year.
She is a four-year soccer letter winner and two-year track letter winner, served as captain of the soccer team for two years and was named an All-WPIAL, All-Section Top 19 Fall Athlete of 2016.
Rose, daughter of Arch and Roseann Rose of Dilliner, is president of Student Council, treasurer of the National Honor Society, secretary of the senior class and a member of the physics club, Academic League, Varisty Club and prom committee. She volunteers with Crossroads at First Presbyterian Church and worked at Douglas Greenhouse.
