Chevron Foundation awards several grants

The Chevron Foundation has awarded nearly $45,000 in grants in Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties.

The grants included $2,000 to Brownsville Area School District to purchase iPads for high school math classes.

Other recipients are California University of Pennsylvania, $10,000 stipends for Fayette and Greene students in the land management certification program; Cornerstone Care, $3,500 to provide free dental care for children in Fayette and Greene countries; Fayette County Career & Technical Institute, $5,000 to create a new STEM Academy; Rostraver/West Newton Emergency Services, $2,000 to buy a communication dispatch console; and Uniontown Area YMCA, $2,000 to fund a nutritional program for middle school students.
