John Corbly Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hot Rod’s House of BBQ, 46 S. Morris St., Waynesburg.
Throckmorton United Methodist Church will hold a community dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Dinner will include ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, lima beans, applesauce, desserts and drinks. Dinner is free, but donations will be accepted.
Peters Township Parks and Recreation will hold a women’s self-defense class from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Dec. 21 for women 16 and older. Master Dean Kelly of C.S. Kim Karate will offer instruction and discussion on situational awareness and close-quarters weapons defense. Cost is $5 for members and $8 for nonmembers. The Washington County – Florida 62nd annual reunion will be held Feb. 9 at Homer’s Original Smorgasbord, 1000 Sebring Square, Sebring, Fla. The Manatee Room will open at 10 a.m. for registration and visiting. Lunch will follow at 11. Cost is $9.50 per person. Greene County School Retirees are sponsoring a trip April 27 and 28 to Sight & Sound Theatre in Lancaster to see “Jonah.” The trip also will include a visit to Lititz, where participants can visit shops, make their own pretzel at the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery, visit Wilbur Chocolate store and eat at Shady Maple Smorgasbord.
