BAMA planning Lenten services
The Brownsville Area Ministerial Association will hold Lenten services at 7 p.m. Thursdays as follows:
• Feb. 11 – First United Methodist, 215 Church St., Brownsville. Speaker will be Zane Mitchell, a lay person and active volunteer at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Brownsville.
• Feb. 18 – Fort Burd Presbyterian Church, 200 Thornton Road, Brownsville. Speaker will be the Rev. Aleda Menchyk.
• Feb. 25 – Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 400 Hopewell Road, Brownsville. Speaker will be the Rev. Norman Erb-White.
• March 3 – Malden Christian Fellowship, 343 Old National Pike, Brownsville. Speaker will be the Rev. Charles House.
• March 10 – First Christian Church, Route 166, Republic. Speaker will be the Rev. Katy Brungraber.
• March 17 – St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 307 High St., Brownsville. Speaker will be the Rev. Renita Crable.
The Good Friday Tenebrae service will begin at 8 p.m. March 25 at the Historic Church of St. Peter, 300 Shaffner Ave., Brownsville. The Rev. Timothy Kruthaupt will officiate.
Community services are followed by a fellowship hour, featuring light refreshments, in the host church’s social hall. The weekly collections benefit BAMA’s charitable giving in the community, including local food banks.
