Amputee to speak at chamber event

The Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce, Mon Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, Young Professionals of the Mon Valley and Belle Vernon Rotary will host “An Evening with Eric McElvenny – Retired Marine Captain, Amputee Endurance Athlete, Motivational Speaker” at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 in the Education Conference Center at Monongahela Valley Hospital.
McElvenny’s subject is “Learn to Conquer Adversity.” He will discuss overcoming challenges, teamwork, leadership, goal-setting and discipline, and he will provide strategies for positive thinking and practical tricks for setting and reaching goals.
Tickets are $15 per person and include light refreshments. Sponsorship opportunities also are available.
