Parson – 95 years
Kathryn Parson of Waynesburg will celebrate her 95th birthday with a family dinner and card shower. Cards may be sent to 185 Sherman Ave., Apt. 2, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
She was born February 18, 1921, in Center Township.
On June 24, 1939, she married Charles Parson Jr., who is deceased.
Her children are Shirley Jones of Canonsburg, Sharon (Nelson) Stover, Saundra Bayles, both of Waynesburg, Ed (Janie) Parson of Wind Ridge and Rick (Marcie) Parson of Uniontown. Her grandchildren are Jay, John and Dave Jones, Jennifer Jones Lovato, Jeff Stover, Susan Stover-Smith, Tim Parson, Steve Bayles, Kristina Bayles Nicholls, Conni Parson Corbin, Jonni Parson Bihun, the late Rob Parson and step grandchildren Brandon and Brittany Weimer.
She has 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Parson was employed as a medical assistant by the late Dr. Meyer Sonneborn and later Dr. Patricio and Dr. Shin Wu. She was last employed by McCracken Pharmacy in Waynesburg. She is a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church, Wind Ridge, where she was in the choir and sometimes served as pianist. After moving to Waynesburg, she now attends First Baptist Church in Waynesburg. Mrs. Parson is a former member of the Auxiliary and volunteered for several years at Washington Health Systems Greene Hospital in Waynesburg and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Wind Ridge Fire Department. She is also a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Women’s Gasco Club.
