Albert Gallatin topic of annual symposium
The David Bradford House and Washington & Jefferson College will present the annual Symposium on Life and Customs in Western Pennsylvania.
“An Evening with Albert Gallatin” will be held March 18 at the Chapel at Old Main, Washington & Jefferson College. Ron Duquette will portray Albert Gallatin and discuss Gallatin’s role in the Whiskey Rebellion and his influence in the construction of the National Road.
Alex Arnold will focus on Albert Gallatin’s home, Friendship Hill, a national historic site. Several historic associations will have displays. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for those who register before March 15. Tickets will be $15 at the door.
