Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 in Washington will hold a dance with Shades of Time from 8:30 p.m. to midnight Saturday. The dance includes a cash bar. Cover charge is $5. For more information, call 724-222-9912.

Washington County Parks and Recreation staff will hold an Introduction to Snowshoeing at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mingo Creek County Park. Basic snowshoe instruction will be taught, followed by a hike on modern snowshoes. At least four inches of snow is needed to conduct the program. If there is not enough snow, a hike will be offered. Snowshoes are limited. There is no fee for the program, but registration is required by calling the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation office at 724-228-6867.

Martha Washington Quilters Guild will meet at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 26 on the third floor of Church of the Covenant, 267 E. Beau St., Washington. Pam Taylor will demonstrate the use of pre-cuts in quilting. Guests are welcome.

Natural Solutions for Weight Loss will be presented by certified lifestyle educator Michael C. Gallagher at 6 p.m. Jan. 28 at Anderson Chiropractic in McMurray. Makeup date is 6 p.m. Feb. 4. A spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction to benefit Corey Mitchell of Chartiers Township will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Masonic Lodge, 235 W. Pike St., Canonsburg. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and younger. Mitchell, a 2013 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School, is in a coma after being involved in a car accident Christmas night.
