Author to visit Paris Presbyterian
Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike, will host author Jennie Newbrough at noon Feb. 24 and for an author talk and lunch.
Newbrough will discuss her new book, “Strength to Stand.” She will sell and sign the book, along with her other book, “At the Core.”
Newbrough founded His Word Christian Counseling 30 years ago, and counsels at Crossroads Church in Oakdale and in Weirton, W.Va., where she resides. She offers counseling for spiritual growth, marriage issues, addictions, codependency, depression and other life issues.
She earned her doctorate of ministry, master’s of theology and master’s of divinity from Christian Life School of Theology, and she has founded and directed a local campus of Christian Life School of Theology. She also has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from West Liberty University, and has studied at the Institute of Pastoral Counseling in Akron, Ohio. She is ordained through International Seminary in Plymouth, Fla., and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Newbrough has written the “Aglow Support Group Leader’s Guide,” which has been used to train leaders across the nation; “At the Core,” a study on character development that is a college course for AIM-Aglow Institute of Ministry and Christian Life School of Theology in Columbus, Ga.; and “Strength to Stand,” a devotional for the times in which we live.
