West End Neighborhood Watch Chapter I will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at West Washington United Methodist Church.

Jefferson Township Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday in the White Church building, Fire Road, Eldersville. “Reiminiscing About One-Room Schoolhouses” will be presented by Sandy Mansmann, a 45-year member of the Washington County History & Landmarks Foundation who raised eight children in an 1832 farmhouse in Nottingham Township. Nonmembers are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Aquatic scavenger hunt, hosted by the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation, will be held at 7 p.m. July 19 at Cross Creek County Park, Shelter 3. Water shoes are required, and a change of clothing is recommended. Reservations are required by calling the parks and recreation department at 724-228-6867. The program is free.

Peters Creek Historical Society will host its annual picnic at 6 p.m. July 25 at the Enoch Wright House, 815 Venetia Road, Venetia. The Wright House attained state and national register designation in 2007 and serves as the headquarters of the society. For more information, call 724-746-3203.

Presbyterian SeniorCare, South Main Street, Washington, will sponsor a refresher course for the AARP Safe Driving Program from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 26 in the chapel. A free lunch will be served at noon. Participants must bring a copy of their last certificate, driver’s license and AARP card if claiming the discount. Cost is $20 for nonAARP members and $15 for AARP members. Reservations are required by calling Karen at 724-250-4993.
