Shirley Haviland Pohl of Jude Pohl Productions has written a musical, “Movie Mayhem,” that was inspired by her husband, Jude, who died last September.

It is based on one of Jude’s one-act plays, “Murder in Tinseltown,” about retired film people living in an old folks home in Hollywood, and it will be presented at 7 p.m. June 17 and 18 at Houston United Presbyterian Church, 102 N. Main St.

Shirley’s adaptation includes 10 original songs and “is filled with delightfully loony characters who can become Sherlock Holmes, Scarlett O’Hara or Capt. Jack Sparrow at a moment’s notice,” she says.

Cast members include David Alden, Roger Dimit, Lucas Grasha, Carol Karl, Anita Spano, Rebecca Smykal and Corey Nile Wingard.

Tickets are $15, and include dessert following the performance. Proceeds will benefit chapel renovations at the church. For more information or reservations, call 724-746-1178.
