Cole – Herschell
Judith Anne Herschell and Robin Cole Sr. were united in marriage April 24 at Hyeholde Restaurant, Moon Township, with Judge Dwayne Woodruff, longtime friend and former Steelers teammate of the groom, officiating the ceremony.
The bride’s parents are Edward and Dorothy Caffrey of Washington and the late Paul Herschell.
Parents of the bridegroom are Georgia Mae Cole of Compton, Calif., and the late Obediah Cole.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
Matron of honor for her sister was Kathy Keenan of Longs, S.C.
Best man was Jim McDonald of Washington.
The bride is a 1978 graduate of Washington High School. She holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of North Carolina and degrees in biology and psychology from Geneva College. Her graduate work in biology was completed at California University of Pennsylvania. In 2003, the bride founded Herschell Environmental, an engineering and business development company specializing in the water treatment industry.
Mr. Cole is a 1973 graduate of Compton High School. He studied physical education and business at the University of New Mexico. In 1977, Cole was a first-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and played for the team for 12 years. He completed his education in business at Ford Motor Institute in Detroit, Mich. Cole is a public speaker and founder and president of the Obediah Cole Foundation, a nonprofit organization for prostate cancer education and awareness.
A reception was held in the Round Room at Hyeholde.
The couple honeymooned at Tybee Island and Savannah, Ga.
They reside in Nottingham Township.
