Hunter Bigler graduated summa cum laude with a 3.91 grade-point average from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in sport/exercise science. He was named to the dean’s list all eight semesters. Bigler was a Provost Scholar Athlete and was named a 2016 Academic All-American in baseball by the College Sports Information Directors of America, which recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their performances athletically and academically. He was a member of the university’s baseball team for four years. Bigler plans to attend graduate school at Slippery Rock University in the fall to earn his doctorate in physical therapy. He is a 2012 graduate of Trinity High School, and his parents are Randy and Elaine Bigler of Washington.
Katlyn D’Orazio graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy with a doctorate of pharmacy. She is a member of the WVU Chapter of American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists, for which she served as co-chairwoman of the Operation Heart campaign. D’Orazio received the Charles Trump Community Service Award and the WVU School of Pharmacy Excellence in Pharmacy and Business Scholarship. She was awarded the bronze level Presidential Volunteer Service Award and was named to the dean’s list. D’Orazio has accepted a position with Walgreen’s in Wilmington, N.C. She is a 2010 graduate of Bentworth High School, and her parents are Donald and Jennifer D’Orazio of Scenery Hill.
Nate Ecker was named to the dean’s list with a 4.0 grade-point average at Washington & Jefferson College, where he is majoring in economics. Ecker is student government president and a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, and international economics honor society. He is a 2013 graduate of Trinity High School, and his parents are Roger and Diane Ecker of Washington.
Lindsay Knowlson was named to the dean’s list for the sixth consecutive semester at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she is majoring in nursing. She is a 2013 graduate of Trinity High School and is a clinical assistant at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. Her parents are Keith and Grace Knowlson of Washington.
Dr. Laurel Marshalek graduated from the University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine. She is a 2012 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, and her parents are Tom and Annette Marshalek of Scenery Hill. Marshalek will begin her career at Lindquist Veterinary in Kirksville, Mo.
Ryan McDaniel was named to the dean’s list for the fourth consecutive semester at Waynesburg University, where he is majoring in accounting. He works part time at U.S. Corrugated Inc., Account Master and Consol Energy Park. McDaniel is a 2014 graduate of Trinity High School, and his parents are Kurt and Denise McDaniel of Washington.
Emma J. Ott has been named to the President’s List at Elon University, where she is majoring in statistics and finance with a minor in leadership. She is an Isabella Cannon Leadership Fellow. Ott is a 2015 graduate of Ringgold High School, and is a retail store manager at Consol Energy Park. Her parents are Michael and Maureen Ott of Eighty Four.
Haley Welsh was named to the dean’s list at Washington & Jefferson College, where she is majoring in political science. She is a 2015 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, and her parents are Leslie Stevens of McDonald and Jay Welsh.
