Davina, Vagabonds to perform at Oglebay
Oglebay will present Davina and the Vagabonds at 7 p.m. Sunday during its Summer Entertainment Series at Oglebay Park. With influences from Fats Domino, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Aretha Franklin and Tom Waits, the group’s high-energy show has a New Orleans sound featuring elements of blues, jazz, rhythm and blues, soul and gospel.
Based in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn., and formed in 2006, Davina and the Vagabonds has released two albums, with “Sunshine” reaching No. 13 on the Billboard Blues Chart.
The performance is free. In case of bad weather, concerts will be moved to an indoor facility at Oglebay.
