Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will host an evening of catching fireflies and roasting marshmallows around a campfire at 8 p.m. Friday at Mingo Creek County Park. Participants should meet at Shelter 2. There is no fee. Collection containers and marshmallows will be provided. Bring a chair or blanket and a beverage. Registration is required by calling the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation office at 724-228-6867.

Chartiers Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 502 Old Hickory Ridge Road, Washington, will hold a spaghetti dinner from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday. There will be a basket raffle and 50/50 drawing. Dinner includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread, butter, drink and dessert. Cost is $10 for adults and $8 for children. Takeout will be available.

Chartiers Township Parks and Recreation will hold Chartiers Day at 6 p.m. Sunday in Arnold Park and the Chartiers Township Community Center. There will be food, music by Supermoon and Totally 80’s, a petting zoo, bounce house, obstacle course, dunk tank, photo booth and bingo. Music will begin at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., and fireworks will begin at 10. For more information, call 724-745-3415.

Lavender Festival will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Christian W. Klay Winery in Chalk Hill. The free festival features vendors, lavender products, plants, food and baked goods. Local jazz musician Harold Betters will perform from 1 to 4 p.m.
