Virgili – 90 years
Velma “Carolyn” Virgili celebrated her 90th birthday with her family in her home in Mather.
She was born May 12, 1926, in Masontown.
On January 12, 1949, in St. Marcellus Catholic Church, Jefferson, she married Ernest Virgili, who is deceased.
Mrs. Virgili has five children, Christine (Sam) Conrad of Waynesburg, Andrea (Terry) Semenoff of Carmichaels, Patricia Benson of Brownsville, Debra (Michael) Konosky of Waynesburg and Ernest Virgili Jr. of Mather.
Her grandchildren are Leighanne Brunell, Nathan Conrad, Amanda Conrad, Katie Morgan, Carrie Beth Konosky, Michael Konosky Jr. and Jennifer Konosky.
She has 12 great-grandchildren.
Although born and raised in Fayette County, Mrs. Virgili has spent most of her life in Greene County. She is a member of St. Marcellus Catholic Church, Jefferson. For many years, she was employed at the Greene County Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse. She enjoys listening to audio books, reciting the Holy Rosary with Mother Angelica and watching cowboy shows and westerns on TV, especially Cheyenne Bodie.
