Time running out for nonprofits to register for ‘Clicks for Cash’
From June 6-12, the Washington County Community Foundation will host its annual web-based contest for charities that have registered to participate in its WCCF Gives day of giving.
Winning organizations will receive a total of $5,000 in unrestricted grants from the foundation’s Acorn Fund. Gateway Health recently made a gift of $5,000 to exclusively sponsor this year’s “Clicks for Cash” contest.
“It is our hope that the $3,000 unrestricted Acorn Fund grant grand prize will fuel friendly competition between the charities and lead to record levels of community participation,” said Carol Rhodes, community affairs specialist at Gateway Health.
Members of the community are encouraged to visit wccfgives.org, go to the “Charity Search” section and click on the charity profile pages of their favorite WCCF Gives participants to cast their votes.
Contest participants can cast a vote for more than one charity. The charity that receives the most unique page views will receive a $3,000 unrestricted grant.
Additionally, WCCF will use the contest results to distribute four $500 unrestricted grants based on a lottery. Each charity will receive one chance for each unique page view, so the more unique page views a charity receives, the more chances it will have in the lottery. A computer program will choose the lottery winners at random.
Qualified 501(c)(3) charities that have not yet registered for WCCF Gives are encouraged to do so by Wednesday so they can participate in both the day of giving and the “Clicks for Cash” contest. No registrations will be accepted after Wednesday.
