The Rotary Club of Monongahela recently recognized two Ringgold High School seniors, Hunter Curry and Taylor Pust, as Students of the Month for October.

Students are selected based upon excellence in any one or more of the following areas: academic, athletics, arts or community service.

Curry, son of Mark and Betsy Curry of Monongahela, has served as president of Students Against Drunk Driving and The Future is Mine, captain of the Relay for Life team and treasurer of Interact Treasurer and the senior class. His favorite high school event was planning school dances.

He also enjoys photography and coaching youth soccer, and he works as an intern at Massaro Construction Group, which is building the new Ringgold Middle School. His most enjoyable community service activity has been volunteering in the youth ministry of his church, Crossroads Ministries.

After high school, Curry plans to study biomedical engineering at the University of Pittsburgh.

Pust, daughter of Dale and Renee Pust of Monongahela, is president of Interact and her senior class, a cheerleader and an active member of The Future is Mine, cross country and track, Relay for Life, the Foreign Language Club and the Science Olympiad.

Her favorite high school memory was attending a pep rally and singing Ringgold’s alma mater.

Pust enjoys volunteering at Monongahela Valley Hospital. After high school, she plans to study biology on a premedical track in college.
