Greene Valley church to host women’s choir
Daughters of Grace Christian Women’s Choir will present “Home for the Holidays: Songs of Thanksgiving and Christmas” at 7 p.m. Friday at Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels.
The two-hour program is a nostalgic trip down memory lane that includes Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas choral selections and instrumental music, group singing and a dramatic monologue narration.
Joining the choir will be Carilyn Beabout, pianist; the Psalm 150 Bell Choir; Bethany May, glockenspiel; Betsy Day, flutist; and Jill Dennick, soloist and monologue actress.
A free-will offering will be received to benefit Greene County United Way. Barbara Wise, Greene County United Way director, will discuss local programs supported by the United Way.
Those who attend also are encouraged to bring new or gently used winter coats, which will be donated to neighbors in need through a program offered by the office of state Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Jefferson.
The concert is free, and refreshments will be served. For more information, call Vickie Berdine at 724-825-9489.
