Canon-McMillan High School students recently were introduced to The Challenge Program Inc. during an orientation assembly. The theme was an Olympic trial that demonstrated the interview screening process to help students qualify for success. Canon-McMillan’s business partner is AUMA Actuators, which introduced students to local career opportunities during the assembly. Throughout the year, students will be eligible to compete for financial awards in five areas linked with academic and workplace success: attendance, academic improvement, academic excellence, STEM and community service. Rory Bennett of AUMA Actuators, above, far left, is with the 2015-16 award winners, from left, Mia Graziani for attendance; Sarah Centore, STEM; Gannon McDonough, community service; Gerald Bowman, academic improvement; Santina Bohlander, academic excellence; and Principal David Helinski. At right, Bennett is shown with, from left, Julia Cionti, academic excellence; Ashley Oddi, academic improvement; Madison Mollico, community service; Tyler Meier, STEM; and Valerey Rosenwald, attendance.
