Presbyterian SeniorCare Network, which encompasses Southmont and Southminster Place in Washington, is among the first aging services organizations in the country to achieve accreditation from an international nonprofit in six areas.

The network was awarded a five-year term of accreditation from Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for meeting standards for senior services and living options. CARF is a nonprofit organization that promotes optimal outcomes by conducting surveys.

The network also achieved accreditation in five additional program areas – continuing care retirement communities, assisted living, person-centered long-term care communities, home and community services and dementia care specialty programs.

To achieve the honor, Presbyterian SeniorCare Network was evaluated against more than 2,100 standards by nine surveyors.

Southmont received accreditation in person-centered long-term care communities and dementia-care specialty programs. Southminster received accolades in dementia care and assisted living. Presbyterian SeniorCare at Home received accreditation in home and community services.
