The Greater Washington County Food Bank recently raised nearly $30,000 at its ninth annual Taste of Washington at The Meadows Casino Event Center.

The evening included food from 23 local restaurants, drinks, music and giveaways, with all proceeds benefiting local families within Washington County.

The evening also featured lifetime achievement recognition for Peg Wilson, board president of the food bank, who has donated 15 years of her time to the nonprofit organization.

Of the overall donations, $1,250 was raised by the Washington Rotary Club from the organization’s “Strike Out for Hunger” event at the Washington Wild Things.
