Rotary clubs partner for black and gold fundraiser
The Rotary Club of Monongahela and the Rotary Club of Belle Vernon will hold a joint Black and Gold Game Party and Fundraiser from noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Stockdale fire hall social center, 320 Railroad St.
Advance tickets are $20 and can be purchased from members of either club or by calling Sandy Davis at 412-352-1208 or Lisa Doria at 724-622-0344. Tickets will be $25 at the door.
Ticket price includes admission, food, refreshments and the chance to win multiple prizes, including Steelers tickets, Pirates tickets, Steelers game jersey, Penguins game jersey, cash and the grand prize: a flat-screen TV. Prize drawings will occur every 15 minutes. The Pirates vs. Nationals game will be shown at 1:35 p.m., and the Steelers vs. Eagles game will be shown at 4:35.
The Rotary Club of Monongahela each year awards post-secondary scholarships to Ringgold High School seniors and hosts a
Senior Boys Luncheon for students at Ringgold. The club adopts a needy family each Christmas, purchasing both food and presents for the family. The club also annually holds a roadside cleanup on Cemetery Hill.
The Rotary Club of Belle Vernon has raised thousands of dollars for community projects and for needy individuals and families. The club also awards annual merit-based scholarships to graduating seniors of Belle Vernon Area and Frazier High schools. In addition, the club invests in projects around the world by participating in the Rotary Foundation.
