Bow-hunting meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brooke Hills Park Clubhouse, 140 Gist Lane, Wellsburg, W.Va. Interested participants in bow hunting in the park should attend. For more information, call 304-737-1236.

Southwestern Pennsylvania Chiefs and Assistants Chiefs Association Inc. will meet at 8 p.m. Sept. 21 at North Union Volunteer Fire Department and Oct. 19 at Uniontown Fire Department.

Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will hold a Star Party Sept. 23 and 24 at Mingo Creek County Park Observatory, Mansion Hill Extension, past Shelter 10. Safe solar observing will begin at 5 p.m., and night-sky observing will begin about 7:30, weather permitting. Presentations about current events in astronomy and the Mingo Creek night sky will be held in the Richard Y. Haddad Planetarium at various times throughout the night. Christian Mothers and Women’s Guild at St. Patrick Parish, Canonsburg, will sponsor a fall flower sale from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 24 and 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 25 in the cafeteria.

Peters Creek Historical Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26 in the social room at Wright United Methodist Church, 788 Venetia Road, Venetia. Edward Lybarger, director of the Archives and Publications Department of the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, will discuss “Trolleys of Northern Washington County.” Beginning in the early 1900s, the streetcar was a major means of transportation in Southwestern Pennsylvania and operated until the mid-1950s when it was replaced by buses and cars.
