Martha Washington Garden Club will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Laboratory Presbyterian Church, 33 Manse St., Washington. A light lunch will be served, followed by the presentation “Pennsylvania Wildflowers.” David C. Buresch, Phipps Conservatory speaker, will share his knowledge of and how these native treasures add to the beauty of the landscape throughout the year.

Walk For Wishes Make-A-Wish fundraiser will be held for the first time Sept. 24 at Hazel Ruby McQuain Amphitheater in Morgantown, W.Va. Families, friends, corporations, clubs and schools are invited to walk together to celebrate and raise money for local children living with life-threatening medical conditions. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10. Participants can register by creating a new team, joining an existing team or joining as an individual walker. Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia is looking for volunteers to assist with wish fulfillment. To become a volunteer, individuals must be at least 21, pass a criminal background check and attend a training session. Interested individuals should call the office as soon as possible to begin the application/on-boarding process.
