Mon Valley Hospital to host medical symposium
Monongahela Valley Hospital’s 27th annual medical staff symposium will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 26 in the Education Conference Center.
The symposium will focus on updates in renal disease, electrolyte disorders and hypertension. The program includes:
• Cardiorenal Syndrome, presented by Dr. Robert Heyka, Cleveland Clinic;
• New Guidelines and Update for Hypertension, presented by Dr. George Thomas, Cleveland Clinic;
• Nuances in Drug Management in Renal Failure Patients, presented by Dr. Kristine S. Schonder, University of Pittsburgh;
• New Developments in Managing Electrolyte Imbalance, presented by Dr. James R. Johnston and Dr. Helbert Rondon, University of Pittsburgh;
• eCommunication: The Potential and the Pitfalls, presented by Curt Solomon, certified professional in healthcare risk management, NORCAL Group.
Participants can earn a maximum of 5.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. In addition, MVH will provide 5.0 continuing education hours for nurses.
