Washington County students are invited to submit entries for this year’s Law Day contests sponsored by the Washington County Bar Association and Observer Publishing Co. The entry deadline has been extended to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The theme is “The 14th Amendment: Transforming American Democracy.” It explores how the 14th Amendment reshaped American law and society and advanced the rights of all Americans. There is a bookmark contest for second- through fifth-graders and an editorial essay, creative arts and “Peeps diorama” contests for sixth- through 12th-graders.

Adults and mixed student-adult groups can participate in a citizenship project.
